Not Making Ice
The bin stays empty while the machine hums. Water is not reaching the evaporator, or the control has locked the unit out after repeated failed cycles. Inlet valve, float and water level sensor, control board.
Low Ice Production
A machine that used to fill the bin overnight now falls behind by the afternoon. Long freeze cycles from a starved water supply, a warm condenser or a weak compressor.
Ice Will Not Drop (Harvest Fault)
The slab freezes and stays on the evaporator until somebody thaws it by hand. Hot gas valve, harvest thermistor or timer.
Thin, Cloudy or Hollow Cubes
Short freeze cycles or low water flow: supply pressure, a partly closed valve, a sensor ending the cycle early.
Overheating or Shutting Down
Blocked condenser airflow or a failed condenser fan. The compressor runs hot and the high pressure safety trips until it cools.
Leaking Water
Sump overflow, a split drain line, a stuck inlet valve or a loose supply fitting. We trace the source before replacing anything.
Error Codes
Long freeze, long harvest, high temperature and water fault codes on Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman and Ice-O-Matic controls. We read the code and confirm it with a test.
Bin Full Sensor Faults
The machine stops with a half-empty bin or overfills it: a bin thermostat or infrared sensor out of position or failed.

Where Does a Commercial Ice Machine Fail?
Three circuits, and the symptom tells us which one to open first. We test in that order instead of replacing the board because the display said so.
Water side: inlet valve, float, sump pump, drain
Most no-ice calls start here. We measure flow and pressure at the machine, test the valve and the level sensor, and check the drain before we look anywhere else.
Refrigeration side: compressor, condenser, fan, hot gas valve
Long freeze cycles, overheating and stuck harvests live here. We check airflow and the fan first, then pressures and the harvest valve, and we tell you straight if the compressor is the problem.
Controls: board, thermistors, bin sensor
A control board or a sensor reading out of range can shut a healthy machine down. We confirm the code with a test rather than replacing the board on suspicion.
