Premium brands are precision-engineered: sealed cooling systems, dual compressors, integrated cabinetry. We start every diagnosis from the brand's own failure pattern. We order specialty parts against the model after the diagnostic. Premium parts take longer than the 2-4 days a mass-market part needs, so we give you the date up front and the return visit is free. They run 18-22 years, so repair beats replacement.

Common issues

Common Brand-Specific Issues

Sub-ZeroCompressor strain, coastal

Coil cleaning fixes most coastal cooling calls; gaskets and fan motor next at the 8-12 year mark.

BoschE22 / E23 dishwasher

The drain pump has failed. We match OEM or an aftermarket equivalent to your specific unit.

LGUE code, washer

A drum-balance fault. Suspension-rod replacement clears it cleanly, around the 5-7 year mark.

Whirlpool / MaytagSqueal or grind, dryer

Belt and idler-pulley replacement resolves most cases, a fraction of a new dryer.

SamsungIce maker, fridge

Usually the auger motor or water inlet valve, separate from any touchscreen quirk.

WolfRange igniter, bake element

Typically a new spark module around the 8-12 year mark; bake element is next.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Yes. Sub-Zero is one of the premium brands we see most in coastal Bay Area homes. The parts that fail most often are usually on hand; anything else we order against your model. Sub-Zero parts take longer than a mass-market part, so we give you the date at the diagnostic. No premium surcharge either: the same $80 diagnostic plus parts and labor as any brand.

Bosch dishwasher repair starts from $220, depending on the fault. We credit the $80 diagnostic toward the repair once you approve the written estimate.

Yes, in most cases. Wolf parts for 10-20 year old ranges come from specialty distributors and take longer than a mass-market part. We diagnose first, confirm the exact part, and give you a real timeline before we order anything. If a part is no longer made, you hear that upfront so you can weigh repair against replacement.

We are independent technicians, not a manufacturer service center. We work on most major brands directly, with OEM or aftermarket parts depending on what is available and what you prefer. If your appliance is still under manufacturer warranty, call the manufacturer first so you keep that warranty.

We service every major US-market brand. A few we do not take on: vintage gas appliances (pre-1990 ranges, Wedgewood, O'Keefe & Merritt), where parts are gone and the safety risk is real; microwaves, vent hoods, and garbage disposals; and new-appliance installation. What we do cover: refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, and wine coolers.

Most repairs finish in 1-3 hours on the first visit when the part is already on hand, common for Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Maytag, Bosch, and GE. Premium brands (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele) and less common faults often need a part ordered after the diagnostic, which takes longer than the 2-4 days a mass-market part does. Either way, we give you a real timeline at the visit so you can plan around it.

Almost always. Premium brands like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, and Miele are built to run 18-22+ years, so a repair from $500 on a 12-year-old unit usually beats a replacement that starts from $8,000. Workhorse brands (Whirlpool, Frigidaire, GE, Maytag) reach the break-even line sooner, around 8-10 years. We run those numbers with you at the diagnostic and you decide.

Yes. We are a Licensed Major Appliance Technician, California License #51001, issued by the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (expires July 31, 2027), with full insurance for appliance repair throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

We take all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, online invoice links, personal checks, and cash. You pay when the repair is done. No processing fees on card payments.
